This site was designed to serve several purposes.

• First and foremost, to increase exposure for Jim Harney (ME!) in a effort to find more work playing as a saxophonist and woodwind doubler in the Tidewater/Hampton Roads, Virginia area. I have been a professional musician for over 20 years and have lived in the Williamsburg area for most of that time. I have been fortunate to have had numerous opportunities to play all styles of music in all kinds of settings. I have led many of the groups that I have performed with and I was Instrumental Music Supervisor at Busch Gardens Williamsburg for several years.
• Second, to share information about my equipment so other saxophone players or anyone else that is interested can see what I am playing on.
• Third, to provide information about any upcoming gigs if anyone has an interest in seeing me perform live around the area as well as audio demos of me playing in several different settings on all of the saxophones and clarinet.
• Fourth, to share links to saxophone related resources from musicians to equipment and even some of my other sites that I currently have up on the web.
