Here are several links to saxophone related resources and other things that I find interesting

This is by no means, a comprehensive list of saxophone links, just a few to get started. These are sites that I frequently visit for various reasons. I will try to update and add new links often. Please Contact Me if you would like to see something added here.

Instrument Manufacturers

• Selmer Saxophones - Professional Saxophones - The Best as far as I'm concerned!
• Yamaha Saxophones - Good student, intermediate and professional saxophones
• Keilwerth Saxophones - I have limited experience with Keilwerth but have heard good things
• C.G.Conn Saxophones - Older horns are in demand as great instruments, don't know about modern horns
• Jupiter Saxophones - Student Model Saxophones
• L.A. Sax - Never played one, their site looks interesting though
• LeBlanc (Vito & Yanagisawa) - Mostly student models - Apparently now owns Conn & Selmer distribution
• Buffet Clarinets - Professional and Intermediate Clarinets
• Armstrong Flutes - Good student and intermediate level flutes
• Gemeinhardt Flutes - Good student, intermediate and professional flutes
• Haynes Flutes - Have never played one but they are supposedly the top of the line

Instrument Reeds & Accessories

• Neotech Straps - Very comfortable neck straps - This is what I use and I have several
• Oleg Products - Straps, Ligatures, Key Modifications and other accessories
• Rovner Ligatures and accessories - A variety of "fabric" type ligatures
• BG Ligatures and accessories - FYI - This site is currently under construction
• Alexander Reeds - Started playing on these about a year ago, they play well (for the most part) and have an interesting sound
• Rico Reeds - Makers of LaVoz, Hemke, Rico & Plasticover Reeds
• ProTec Cases - Makers of instrument cases
• Vandoren Products - Mostly student models - Apparently now owns Conn & Selmer distribution
• Hetman Lubricants - I use their key oil, it works very well
• Gator Cases - Hard-shell and gig bag type cases

• Reunion Blues Cases - Leather and Cordura gig bags - Very Nice, I have a couple of them

• Woodwind & Brasswind - One of the biggest woodwind retail companies
• Music123.com - Looks suspiciously like a branch of Woodwind & Brasswind
• Frederic H. Weiner Music - Good source for instruments and accessories - site seems to be undergoing changes
• Giardinelli.com - Another one of the biggest woodwind retail companies (has been taken over by Musicians Friend)
• Sax Quest - Merchant for accessories, new and vintage horns. Interesting Saxophone resource as well
• USA Horn - New and vintage horns
• Chuck Levin's Washington Music Center - Great Horn prices, also have done great overhauls on 3 of my horns

Musicians & Groups

• Michael Brecker - In my opinion, the best saxophonist probably of all time. Recently passed away in January of 2007 due to a long battle with Leukemia.
• Bill Evans - Former Miles Davis sideman now a solo artist
• Bob Mintzer - Yellowjackets, Bob Mintzer big band and solo artist
• Chris Vadala - Former Chuck Mangione sideman, currently professor at University of Maryland and a great guy!
• Yellowjackets - One of my favorite groups
• Joe Zawinul - Keyboardist and founder of Weather Report
• Tower of Power - Probably the best horn band ever
• Steely Dan - Great classic rock band with a history of great saxophonists
• Rippingtons - Contemporary jazz group
